The Policy and Research Unit of PNG CORE in its function works towards thee (3) primary objectives: 

1. To consider policy positions on all matters relating to the Industry; 

2. To foster balanced environmental, community, and economic responsibility within the industry;  

3. To present the views of the Industry to the Government and the community generally in Papua New Guinea; access to land employment, economic growth, etc.
