Papua New Guinea (PNG) highlighted a range of compelling investment opportunities across its mining sector at the recent Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Convention, held from March 1st to 4th in Toronto, Canada.
The PNG CORE Investor Briefing – a sideline event at the PDAC Convention recorded strong interest, with 167 pre-registered participants and an additional 37 walk-in investors. The audience represented a diverse cross-section of markets, including Canada, the United States, Japan and Europe who found the event an eye opener to the investment opportunities in Papua New Guinea’s mining and resources sectors.
The event featured presentations from PNG’s Minister for Mining, Hon. Solen Loifa, and PNG Chamber of Resources and Energy (PNG CORE) Vice President and K92 Mining Inc. CEO and Director, John Lewins, reinforcing PNGs commitment to engaging directly with the global investment community and positioning the country as a destination for responsible and sustainable resource development.

Mr. Lewins in responding to the strong interest generated by investors at the event, reaffirmed PNG CORE’s commitment to advancing discussions.
“PNG CORE is committed to facilitating targeted introductions and follow-up meetings to help convert these interests into tangible outcomes,” said Mr Lewins.
PNG CORE continues to play a pivotal role in connecting global capital with sustainable development opportunities across Papua New Guinea’s mining, gas, and resource sectors. The organisation remains focused on fostering transparent engagement between government, developers, and the international investor community, while promoting projects that drive economic growth and deliver meaningful benefits to local communities.
This commitment will continue through upcoming flagship events, including the PNG Resources Week (PRW) , an event that brings together stakeholders from across the entire resources sectors in the country and PNG Investment Week (PIW), a premier investment forum where the government leaders , international investors , project proponents and industry executives come together to advance investment and partnership opportunities across the economy.
