PNG Resources & Energy Conference 2023

In a landmark event held from December 10-13, 2023, at the Sydney International Convention Centre, the 17th PNG Resources and Energy Investment Conference drew together a global assembly of nearly 2,000 delegates.

The conference, themed ‘PNG Resources and Energy: Promoting Sustainable Investment,’ featured high-level participation, including Papua New Guinea’s Prime Minister, the Hon. James Marape, alongside leading figures from the global minerals and energy sectors.

Notably, the event was marked by significant announcements, including the near reopening of the Porgera gold mine, signaling a pivotal moment for investment in Papua New Guinea’s resource and energy sectors.

Inaugural Asia Investment Conference (Hong Kong)

The inaugural Papua New Guinea – Asia Investment Conference, set to take place on October 16th and 17th, 2023, at the Kowloon Shangri-La Hotel in Hong Kong, represents a strategic endeavor by the PNG Chamber of Resources and Energy, in collaboration with the national government.

Aimed at bolstering investment ties, the conference will spotlight PNG as a burgeoning investment hub in Asia, showcasing its potential through success stories and opportunities in energy and other exports.

With over 500 delegates expected, the event underscores PNG’s commitment to diversifying its economic base and fostering robust trade relationships across Asia

CANCONEX

CANCONEX 2023

The inaugural PNG Community Affairs and National Content Conference and Expo (CANCONEX) 2023, held in Lae from August 28-30, marked a significant milestone in Papua New Guinea’s focus on sustainable development in the resource sector.

Hosted at the Papua New Guinea University of Technology, the event attracted over 700 business delegates, government officials, and landowners. CANCONEX aimed to foster awareness, celebrate successes, and encourage collaborative efforts towards sustainable outcomes for stakeholders within the nation’s mineral resources and energy sectors.
